It was with great sadness that I learned of Ustad Sultan Khan's passing just over a week ago. He was an internationally revered Sarangi player from Rajasthan who embraced using his instrument with a wealth of non-traditionalist musicians including Bill Laswell, Karsh Kale, the Midival Punditz and Zakir Hussein as part of their Tabla Beat Science project.
