Toronto, Ontario Canada, July 30th, 2007 - This, the debut title on the 'Indian Electronica' imprint, is a 28 track double-disc CD release featuring an array of artists from around the globe that will take you on a musical journey through the past, present and into the future.  Expect to hear the most innovative uses of South Asian instrumentation, vocals and harmonies mashed-up with dubby basslines, ragga vocals, breakbeats, drum'n'bass and more.

Featuring an array of both independant and established artists, 'Indian Electronica /volume 001' has rich aural texture and represents many perspectives on Diaspora culture around the world through music.

Disc A of the compilation is downtempo and provides a soundtrack for relaxing atmosphere – be it Yoga, exercise, meditation, reading or anything else.  Disc B is more uptempo and suits more active settings – such as driving, running, dance etc...  When played sequentially, the full compilation will take the listener on a musical journey whilst returning them to relaxed familiar ground at its end.

Initially popularised in the mid 1990s with the UK's Asian Underground movement, the music of Indian Electronica is expressive of an increasingly complex global identity.  Indian Electronica music fuses 'East' and 'West' using technology and tradition to produce some of the World's most innovatively emotive and exciting sounds.

The music we publish and promote has truly become a global phenomenon.  Today there are more professional producers and performers around the world than ever before seeking to express Diasporic culture through music.

Audiences from all ethno-cultural backgrounds who can appreciate this music are growing exponentially and internationally - in number and diverse multi-cultural background.

The compilation will be available on exclusive pre-release at the Indian Electronica Festivals in Toronto and London (UK) through the summer of 2007.  Festival details are available online at http://www.indianelectronica.com/festival

As of September 17th, 2007, the compilation will be available for order in CD format through the Post at http://www.indianelectronica.com , with digital downloads on iTunes, Napster and other digital audio sites later in the year!
